We asked dojo students what has changed since they started aikido at MUGEN JUKU and why they continue to do it.
General and parent-child student testimonials
Other than the kids, work, and housework, all I did was sleep and stuff, but I feel like I'm spending meaningful time with them. I can proudly say to my children, "I'll do my best too, so let's do it together," instead of just saying it.

The fact that I can control my opponents with minimal force is interesting and I also enjoy the current class members.

I enjoy the practice that allows me to protect myself and my loved ones in times of emergency. I feel that I can become a person of character if I keep practicing aikido (I respect Sensei and everyone else who is a good person).
My daughter, who started aikido with me, also likes aikido and will be able to continue it, so I am grateful that parents and children can learn something in common.

I am not always able to do or receive techniques well, but I keep trying because I want to be able to do them.
Also, the teachers are interesting.
I can watch YouTube videos and review with my sister, and the follow-up environment makes it easy to continue.

I continue with aikido because it is deep and the techniques are fresh and interesting.
I am more aware of the center of my body in my daily life, and I am doing basic movements naturally at more and more times.

I am confident that I am able to continue. I think my way of thinking has broadened since I started aikido.

I was happy when I was praised for my good posture while wearing my dojo. I usually hunch over (laughs).
Since I started aikido, I have made friends that I wouldn't normally know, and we are having fun getting through this together.

Aikido has allowed me to set regular things to do on the weekends and not linger on something for too long.
Aikido has been a good time for me to reset myself.

I feel more and more that my body and mind are moving in the right direction through practice.
I am also able to use my strength better in everyday movements (e.g., carrying heavy things).

I would like to learn as many aikido techniques as possible.
Although I have only just started, I think it is helping me to maintain my physical fitness.
