As the Tokyo branch of Aikido Mugen Juku, I took over the dojo from Chris Sensei three years ago at the Corona Disaster and have continued to practice in the gymnasium and rental studio.
With more than 80 members and the birth of brown and black belt students, we are beginning to see the shape of a community.
In addition, the number of new members has been especially increasing recently, and the reason for this is that "the students and the atmosphere are wonderful! and "The students and the atmosphere are wonderful! This has become the Dojo's number one value.
Although the dojo is still in its infancy, we have decided to establish a dedicated permanent dojo in order to maximize the opportunities for students to practice and to create a stable place for them to gain vitality in their daily lives.
The location is in an area called Futaba, Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo.
It is a quiet town with old town factories and residences, and can be reached on foot from various lines including JR, Oimachi, and Asakusa lines.
The 40-year-old office will be renovated using manual labor as well.
It may not be able to reach all the fine dojos in the world, and it's a five-year limited facility that will be torn down in five years... in five years, can we move to a bigger place, or will we go back to the gymnasium again?
We will provide more information as it becomes available.
